We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand fibers connect us with our
fellow men.

Thank you so much! As always, your Sunday Wisdom is thought provoking.
CRC, because of many many, very good reasons, I fear electric. But I would like to express something electrical, just to make a (visual) point. First, I will never get into a ‘My religion is better than yours’ debate, but there is a Divine Power Source.
That said, Like a Jack stuck in a box. What good are boxes full of tangled strands of Christmas lights, sitting on one’s shelf during Christmas, am I right?
One needs to untangle the mess, then string them up and, plug them into a power source — one that’s not faulty, of course — so everyone, not just them, can enjoy the string of lights twinkling amongst the night sky and stars.
“Oh, seems to me, there should be two ceaseless steeds for a bold man to ride,– the Land and the Sea; and like circus-men we should never dismount, but only be steadied and rested by leaping from one to the other, while still, side by side, they both race round the sun.”–Ch. 26, from Pierre: or, The Ambiguities (1852)
Hey CRC — for what it’s worth: you are the only one of your ‘clan’ who not only gets that quote, but flows in it freely, abundantly, naturally and truly. It’s part of your brand of talent/who you are that separates YOU apart.
I realize in the spirit from reading your blogs there is a sort of constant nagging sense of comparison in giftings, and that’s natural. But I feel strongly led to share this: what you have is, in private moments, actually envied. The day will come in which they will come to you for your help in these things which now, truly baffle them. (Outwardly it does not appear so, but inwardly this is truth.)
One of your greatest strengths from what I have seen is your ability to share openly at a gut, human level, life: ongoing. It’s easy to take this gift for granted because to those of us who walk in it, it sounds rediculously simple. You also are a natural-born perpetual teacher/student who loves to empower and equip everybody with everything you know and learn. You are a platform giver and mentor to countless.
Look closely at the etymology of your entire name and you will see you were named for your calling. You are the brother who, like Joseph in the Bible, feels at times imprisoned: has been “sold” into some sort of captivity…a bondage, a *seeming* stuckness or confinement that you don’t know in undertones is working out a great plan in due season. But I tell you, your gifting will bring you, in time, to actually rule over Egypt and your kin folk will come to you in hour of need. You are a gracious man and you will not only forgive, but bless. (Please read about Joseph and you will understand fully what I am saying.)
In the undercurrent, things are not as they appear outwardly. Continue in being all that you are, it IS enough, and try as hard as it may be not to compare outwardly: and in hours unexpected, you will connect with your fellowman… The truth is, your table has always been open. In due timing, they will come asking to feast at YOUR table, Just as Joseph’s brothers came to Egypt in the famine to beg for grain from the outcasted brother: and you will give freely, and you will bless openly; because that is who you are and have been all along, connected.

If only we could choose which 1000 other men our fibers are connected to.

There’s room at my table for everybody; however, the rules of common decency, respect and good will for all always apply.

That’s a great way to look at it. That’s very Aquarian.

Thank you, Rose. I will heed what you say and carry on with a lighter step.
