I understand that, but greed, such an awful thing, has no inherent relation to my idea at all.

It can no longer be work for works sake and doing it well anymore. It now has to be the amount of good one's work does for others, not just yourself. Greed is way too wide spread.

...And I suppose I should add (because I'm thinking about the word 'selfish' now), that work for its own sake is not selfish. Not working, that is selfish. Furthermore, goods both common and greater may be served as best as possible if you do the best job at your work as you can, regardless of whatever carrots you're dangling before yourself (or not) while you're doing it.

Common good and greater goods are great, wealth and recognition are what they are and have pros and cons, and I don't think there is a moral wrong inherent in thinking of those kinds of things to inspire and motivate (although character shows itself clearly in one's handling of those things - gained or not at whatever level). But work for the sake of the work, the education and other riches gained in the very process of committing that work, doing it, the actions of it, that is at the soul of one's career. Work is purposeful and meaningful and gainful in and of itself.

And then, as the saying goes, anything worth doing is worth doing well, so when you work, aspire toward excellence both in the doing of it and the result. Keep an eye on both, they inform each other and this will grow your mind.

I think if you believe this stuff, CRC, live like this without letting false gods before thee, as it were, you'll have a much easier time. I'm glad it's easier now than it has historically been for you.

Honesty like that is a beautiful thing. It reminds me of my humanity and my connection with others.

As for the details...my 2 cents...someone makes a movie...big woop...someone acted in a movie...oh wow...

I mean c'mon America...Let's get our priorities straight. Someone concerning themselves with educating and empowering people to engage their self expression. Now THAT's a big deal. 'nough said.

Hi again Barn. I was starting to worry about you, not too much because I know you're resourceful, but I thought what if he just passes out from not eating and a vulture shows up?

Yeah! PAH-Fest. Yippee! Maybe I'll have a decent Cell Phone by then. I thought up a never-ending movie bit but forgot it already. It's sort of fun to think up situations for BikerChef and -Cat. It would be fun to see you and Adrienne.
