It was actually yesterday, but that’s okay. You’re a great creative partner for me and a very valuable team player to all of our companies. When the goin’ gets tough you stick it out. And guess what? It’s going to get a hell of a lot tougher. I can feel it. So party down my friend, celebrate your birth like a madman. Because we’re going in hard and fast next year…hard and fast.
I want to share a true story about a man I am very fond of. His music is very simple and clear, yet resonates somewhere deep inside. His name was Eden-Ahbez and he wrote the great song “Nature Boy”. Eden lived under the Hollywood sign eating nuts and berries back in the 1940’s. He walked around Hollywood in a long, thin robe. He was a hippy and beatnik before there were such things. Even the great Tom Waits ran into Eden hitchhiking and felt something from the man.
One day Eden was stopped by a street cop on Hollywood Blvd. The Cop said, “Hey, you can’t walk around wearing that”.
Eden replied, “I know…I know I’m weird on the outside, but do you see all these good people walking from store to store, driving in their cars from town to town, sitting on benches just waiting? They’re all weird on the inside.”
The Cop thought a moment, then said, “You know what, bub. You’re right”. And he let Eden go.
Check out his album, “Eden’s Island”. Let me know what you think.
I know what my mission is and I know how to do it. I am at the peak of my game. I am giving myself three years to pull off this big picture I have in my mind’s eye…a picture that fuses education, healing, entertainment and digital technology. I will not let myself be distracted or derailed. I will put every ounce of my focus and energy into this mission. And, I am very confident that I will succeed.

After not sleeping for 72 hours, Nick and I spoke to the Committee of Santa Fe Counties about PAH. Then, we drove up to Las Vegas, New Mexico to have a meeting with Miss New Mexico. We’re going to be creating a special HD piece for her and her youth suicide prevention mission. Both Elyse and myself are very happy to sponsor Miss Ana Romero.

It’s down to Mr. Paine and CRC to wrap the BBVM screenwriting session up tonight. Mr. Paine and I got into it a little last night (50% fistacuffs). It happens when you’re exhausted and drunk. We do respect each other’s talents though and the storms pass quickly between us. We both miss the very talented Nick Johnson and obtuse Grubb Graebner at the writer’s table. They were good comrades; however, we are use to being the last guys at the table.
